Extracting audio from video

I usually download music videoclips from Youtube, and I convert them to MP3 audio files. This is how I do it:

• I download the video files from Youtube with a couple of Firefox extensions: “Flash Video Downloader” or “Youtube video and audio downloader”.
• Once you have it in your computer as a MP4, MOV or whatever format, you can extract the audio with VLC.
• Open VLC.
• Go to Media → Convert/Save
• Add the file you want to convert
• Select Convert/Save → Convert
• Select the audio profile you want (MP3 or Ogg, as you wish)
• Specify a destination file.

Click “Convert” and enjoy :)
