Extracting audio from video
I usually download music videoclips from Youtube, and I convert them to MP3 audio files. This is how I do it:
- I download the video files from Youtube with a couple of Firefox extensions: “Flash Video Downloader” or “Youtube video and audio downloader”.
- Once you have it in your computer as a MP4, MOV or whatever format, you can extract the audio with VLC.
- Open VLC.
- Go to Media → Convert/Save
- Add the file you want to convert
- Select Convert/Save → Convert
- Select the audio profile you want (MP3 or Ogg, as you wish)
- Specify a destination file.
Click “Convert” and enjoy :)
